Description
SMP Tech is an engineering development firm specializing
in design and manufacturing of medical equipment, instrumentation,
electro-mechanical products, and custom machinery. We
have an opening for a person to lead our assembly and
contract-manufacturing group. Must have the ability
to analyze electro-mechanical designs to determine if
they are manufacturable with regard to staffing, production
flow, material selection, hardware, and tooling.
BSME or equivalent with 10-20 years of electro-mechanical
manufacturing experience with a proven track record
of bringing new products through manufacturing to the
market place. Required: Previous experience including
ISO 9001, staffing, SPC, vendor qualification, and quality
assurance (QA/QC). Minimum 3 years of supervisory or
managerial experience.
Will be responsible for all manufacturing activities
including; plant layout, capacity planning, staffing,
work flow analysis, assembly methods, tooling, fixturing,
system test, scheduling, quality and employee training.
Requirements
Must have excellent verbal and written communication
as well as team building skills. Must be a proficient
network computer user with a working knowledge of Windows
applications, ERP, MPR, Demand Flow, and CAD. SMP uses
programs such as: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Pro/E, Unigraphics,
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project. Back

Project
Engineer, Mechanical
Job
Description
Mechanical Engineering position for an
experienced product design engineer who will work as
a project team leader on the design and development
of state-of-the-art electromechanical equipment for
medical products, instrumentation and process machinery.
In this position, the engineer will be responsible for
the creation of electromechanical products and specially
designed machinery. The engineer will plan and execute
projects from definition through release to client manufacturing
startup. Must be able to work with clients with a minimal
amount of managerial supervision. Prefer experience
in electromechanical products, automated machinery or
robotic systems.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for this position
must have a minimum of 10 years of engineering design
experience. Supervisory or project lead experience is
required. Must be experienced in designing using SolidWorks
or Unigraphics. Experience with Pro/E, AutoCAD or Inventor
is desirable. The desire to work in a consulting
environment coupled with superior communication skills
are essential.
